DICK FOLSOM : BUSH PILOT A LEGEND REFLECTS
SWEEPING THE BEAVER FOR A LATE FALL TRIP
Hunting season often presented the greatest challenges for float flying. Frequently, ponds and lakes skimmed over. Snow squalls, which limited visitbility, and ice coated floats were among the dangers the pilots faced.
SOMETIMES THE WORST HAPPENED
A pilot and passenger perished when this cub crashed through the ice in Duck Cove on Moosehead Lake, Maine.
DICK DELIVERED SUPPLIES TO HERMITS
In the late 40's and early 50's a dozen or more men lived in the woods north of Greenville. Dick flew their supplies in and hauled their furs out.
